TownSuite mERP Technical Requirements

Workstation Requirements

Please note that these are workstation requirements and are not suitable for a server. Clients are advised that we will no longer support on-premise servers after December 31, 2026. On-premise server specifications can only be supplied upon request, but all data migration/reconfiguration must be done by TownSuite staff.  Rather than replace or upgrade an on-premise server, we strongly recommend that these clients move to TownSuite Cloud, a fully-managed hosted server environment, which is optimized for TownSuite performance and functionality. 

Typical User:  using TownSuite daily and using multiple TownSuite applications

Power User:   using multiple TownSuite applications and other software simultaneously, or using GIS-based tools (Mapping)

 - TownSuite Municipal Software Inc. does not supply, install, set up, or support any computer or network hardware, peripheral devices, networks or software other than TownSuite Municipal Software.

 - Technical requirements compliance is mandatory.  The operating system environment is subject to TownSuite Municipal Software Inc.'s approval.

 - TownSuite Municipal Software is not designed to be used in a multi-user system such as Microsoft Remote Desktop Services or any other user multiplexing software/virtual desktop solution, and as such is not supported. TownSuite Municipal Software is only to be installed directly on end-user computers.

    Please note: The TownSuite mobile app complements existing desktop and eServices application processes. It does not emulate any individual application functionality.  The TownSuite mobile app is available to complement specific TownSuite mERP applications ONLY, some application prerequisites may apply.

TownSuite manages integrations with the above PCI Compliant Payment Processors.  Integrated online payment processing is only supported for use with TownSuite Customer Portal and TownSuite Recreation.  

Internet Connection
  • TownSuite Cloud requires a 3 Mbps Download / 256Kbps upload connection as measured by our Speedtest Site hosted at the datacentre.  YOW - YVR
Firewall Requirements

Workstations will need unrestricted TCP/UDP outbound connectivity to the following subnets for technical support, software updates, TownSuite Cloud database connections, and health monitoring: Note: this list is subject to change/update

IMPORTANT - Please note the following:  

- Technical requirements consider the software environment needed to start using TownSuite, with consideration to other software that you may have or implement. These technical requirements enable your computer to accommodate regular software updates and add-on TownSuite software modules into the future.

- Technical requirements specify the recommended requirements needed to operate TownSuite Municipal Software. Implementing the technical requirements for a typical user when a power user setup would be more suitable to your usage will impact the speed of TownSuite or other software applications you depend on. These conditions may worsen with updates, add-on modules and additional software. Ensure you have what your municipality needs.
